About this RoleAmerican Eagle Ready Mix [AERM] is a manufacturer and provider of customized concrete products with permanent batch plants as well as portable batch plants to serve remote project locations. The concrete supplied is used in the construction of bridges, highways, office buildings, parking structures, residential structures, wind, solar, and utility structure foundations. AERM is seeking to hire a Controller to help oversee the financial responsibilities of a growing company and to identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency. We are looking for a committed, forward-thinking financial leader to help support our growth.
What You'll Do Financial reporting: Maintain trial balance, prepare, and review journal entries and account reconciliations, and prepare financial statementsBudgeting: Create budgets and manage cash flowCompliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, GAAPRisk management: Identify and mitigate financial risksForecasting: Create financial forecasts and analyze trendsPolicy creation: Develop financial policies and procedures for the companyStaff management: Assist with hiring, training, and overseeing accounting staff—foster a culture of continuous learning and professional developmentAudit coordination: Oversee internal and external audits and ensure the accuracy of recorded dataCommunication: Communicate financial information to management and regional leadership and foster cross functional collaborationProcess improvement and controls: refine accounting processes and develop efficiencies with appropriate internal control safeguards What You'll Bring Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferredExcellent leadership and communication skills in a matrixed environment, with the ability to motivate and inspire othersHands-on financial management experienceProficiency in financial accounting software and Microsoft Office; experience with NetSuite is a plusExperience with general ledger, monthly close cycle, account reconciliations, financial statements, accounts payable, and payrollIn-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and financial reporting requirementsStrong analytical skills, attention to deadlines / details, and accuracyExperience implementing and maintaining internal controls and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirementsConstruction and/or job cost accounting experience preferredPEI_HP
