Kforce has a client in Houston, TX that is seeking a Controller. Responsibilities: * In this role, the Controller will manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities around treasury accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant administration and reporting, fixed assets, and general ledger accounting and develop metrics to report on these activities against benchmarks * Lead and establish departmental strategies and goals that align with the agency's strategic direction * Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls across all departments * Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial statements for department leaders, Board of Directors, President and CEO * Develop annual budget, provide financial analysis, and utilize cash forecasting tools to evaluate organization's service lines, new initiatives, potential projects, and other programs or opportunities * The Controller will provide financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations * Lead the accounting team to regularly prepare relevant management reports, including semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports for each area of responsibility
