Reporting to the VP Operations, Finance, the Controller is responsible for leading all aspects of the accounting operations of the company. 

Important Note: This role is being posted on behalf of OJ Pipelines Canada Corp, like Valard, a Quanta Services Company.

1.   Management

Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting responsibilities. Work with business to ensure compliance and effective controls. Responsible for reviewing and approving all bank transactions including cheques, EFT, and direct deposits. Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential. Ensure to implement all Corporate Finance initiatives as required.

 

2.     Transactions

Ensure all Quanta’s intercompany & Geomatics transactions are booked as required. Record payroll in an accurate and timely manner. Ensure that daily bank reconciliations are completed. Maintain the chart of accounts. Maintain an orderly accounting filing system. Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.

3.     Reporting

Issue timely and complete financial statements. Prepare and send monthly required reports to Quanta Services. Ensure that all financial reporting and procedural requirements are met.

 

4.     Compliance

Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit. Comply with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements.
