Controller
Description We are actively seeking a Controller to join our team in the automotive industry, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for managing and overseeing the financial activities of the company, including the preparation of current financial reports as well as summaries and forecasts for future business growth and general economic outlook. Responsibilities: • Oversee the preparation of the annual operating budget and provide detailed analysis of budget-versus-actual variations • Act as the primary liaison with external auditors during year-end audits and reviews, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared and corrections are made in a timely manner • Supervise the Accounting department staff to guarantee the accuracy, productivity, and timeliness of financial information • Collaborate with various departments to monitor revenue performance and verify the accuracy and timeliness of monthly management reports • Conduct and present monthly management reports • Manage and review fixed asset and depreciation records • Engage in general ledger accounting and reporting, including the management of balance sheet accounts, income statement accounts, and monthly journal entries • Implement process improvements and provide strategic planning and analysis • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and strategic analysis as needed • Oversee month-end close activities and prepare month-end financial reports and journal entries • Serve as backup for various accounting functions when necessary. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role within the Automotive industry • Demonstrated proficiency in Ad Hoc Analysis and Ad Hoc Financial Analysis • Strong analytical reasoning skills • Experience in analyzing variance • Proven abilities in strategic analysis and planning • Familiarity with month-end close activities including financials, journal entries, and reports • Extensive knowledge of general ledger management • Proficiency in using QuickBooks software for financial management Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
