Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller/CFO in the non-profit sector based in Savannah, Georgia. The role involves a wide range of responsibilities from fund accounting to strategic planning and operations efficiency. As a Controller/CFO, you will be tasked with handling federal and state grants, creating and maintaining the operating budget, and managing a team.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate fund accounting with a focus on federal and state grants and corporate donors.
• Develop and maintain the operating budget, including interdepartmental expenses.
• Regularly present financial reports to the finance committee and board of directors.
• Lead and manage a team to achieve departmental goals.
• Ensure timely month-end close activities, including preparing special reports regarding grants.
• Prepare and finalize financial statements on a regular basis.
• Strategically plan for operations efficiency, including analyzing how to save and spend funds appropriately.
• Collaborate with external audit entities to maintain financial transparency and compliance.
• Utilize skills in QuickBooks and Medicaid Management to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a financial management role
• Proficiency in QuickBooks is a must
• Experience in Non-Profit/Fund Accounting is a Required
• Demonstrated ability in handling Month-end Close Activities, Month-end Financial, and Month-end Reports
• Expertise in Monthly Account Reconciliation
• Experience in managing Annual External Audit
• Ability to Prepare Financial Statements, Year-end Financial Statements, and Annual Audited Financial Statements
• Proven experience in managing Government Grants and Corporate Grants
• Strong understanding of Expenditure and ability to Monitor Expenditures
• Experience with Intercompany Accounting
• Ability to manage Department Budget, Department Expense, and Department Goals
• Experience in attending and contributing to Department Meetings and implementing Department SOP's
• Proficiency in Complex Financial Analysis and providing Financial Analysis
• Experience working with Advisory Boards and delivering Board Presentations
• Proven ability to manage Annual Operating Budget and Operating Budget
• Experience in fundraising from Individual Donors
• Ability to handle Quarter-end financial activities
