We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our Accounting team at Goodwill Industries of North Florida. As a key member of the team, this individual will lead traditional financial reporting and management of the fiscal functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and organizational values. Successful candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders.

How You Will Make An Impact
At Goodwill Industries of North Florida, the Accounting team is all about working together to solve problems and improve processes. In this position, which reports to the CFO, you will be working closely with various business partners and key stakeholders and be responsible for driving the monthly financial close activities, performing analytical reviews and variance investigations as needed, maintaining accounting policies and procedures, and helping to refine our processes with an eye toward process improvement and efficiency. You will also have exposure to leadership and development opportunities, and support a growing retail and not-for-profit social enterprise with a mission to remove barriers to employment.
In This Role You’ll Get To:
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reportsAssist with preparation of all weekly and monthly departmental reportingMaintain the accuracy and reliability of financial records / transactionsAnalyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expensesAssist with the formulation of policies and proceduresAccurately forecast budgetary informationAssist with the external audit process and ensure timely filing of IRS Form 990Oversee monthly and annual reporting to GII (Goodwill Industries International)Maintain the chart of accounts and coordinate any accounting system needsDetermine opportunities to strengthen internal controlsOversee and review daily online treasury for bank accountsReview monthly sales tax, annual tangible property tax, real property tax for owned parcels, and tax components of any leased location.Provide support to mission services for financial information related to grant requestsProvide coaching, training and guidance to new and existing staff as neededAssist in or lead ad hoc projectsWork cross functionally with various stakeholders
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, Master’s degree desiredCPA certification or equivalent a plus3-5 years of combined accounting and supervisory experienceExperience in full month end close cycle adhering to strict deadlines while operating as both a contributor and managerKnowledge of regulations and legal requirements to maintain financial and informational integrity of the organizationSolid understanding of grant and fund accountingAcute sense of detail for data accuracy and integrityAbility to embrace ambiguity and push through challenges for positive outcomesAbility to communicate clearly and conciselyStrong command of Microsoft Excel & WordExperience with an ERP system implementation is highly preferredRetail or not-for-profit experience is a plus
