Controller - LATAM Chile
Overview We are seeking a full-time Controller in our Santiago, Chile location. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial functions of the organization including general accounting, cost accounting, accounts receivable and payables, financial analysis and reporting, taxes, and fixed asset accounting in addition to overseeing the monthly financial consolidations of Garmin’s Chile Office and interact with Garmin’s Corporate Finance team. Essential Functions Perform financial reporting and be responsible for the annual budgeting process Manage the monthly financial consolidation process and provide timely reports to the company headquarters Provide financial reporting to executive management including financial trends within the business Provide oversight in the area of financial controls and certify that all financial results are completed within the guidelines of generally accepted accounting principles Coordinate review of the financial results with the internal auditors during their annual audits Oversee accuracy of unit costs for all products imported/sold in the Chilean territory Manage the accounts receivable function and resolve any customer disputes or bad debt situations that may arise Coordinate customer’s credit checks and define safe credit limits Manage the annual budget process and coordinate financial expectations with each department head Oversee departmental expenses and trends and provide analysis and support to the department heads concerning their financial results Work with the Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Finance team and notify him/her of any financial related issues Interface with the Head of Global Transfer Pricing to collaborate on pricing adjustments Work with an outsourced accounting company on all accounting, tax and finance matters Provide guidance and be responsible for a future transition and integrate all accounting, tax and finance matters internally Work on all accounting, fiscal and finance matters Be the primary financial interface between Garmin Chile and all other international offices Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field Minimum of 8 years of experience in Accounting/Finance field Accounting certification Demonstrates a working knowledge of international financial consolidations Prior work experience with Budgeting within a multi-unit organization Prior work experience working in a Latin American subsidiary of a foreign headquartered corporation Demonstrates proficient knowledge of cost accounting and finance theory and principles Demonstrates proficiency/fluency in reading/writing in English Must be detail-oriented, have the ability to work proactively/effectively with minimal supervision, and able to prioritize/multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems, excellent time management/follow-up skills, and superior organizational/analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality Demonstrated leadership skills Desired Qualifications Experience working with Oracle systems
