Controller (Remote - Atlanta)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our clients team on a contract basis to oversee this PortCos financial operations and ensure compliance with industry standards. You will be overseeing a team of 2 Staff Accountants and 1 Accounting Manager, reporting directly to the VP of Value creation at the investment firm. In the first 30 days, you will be involved in a few critical projects involving revenue recognition, implementing a new third party, and cleaning up financials. This is an excellent project for anyone that enjoys the technical aspects of accounting and can immediately take on a leadership position within of an accounting function to make impact.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management: Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, General Ledger, and Revenue Recognition.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Participate in annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. Prepare and file regulatory reports as required.
Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial information.
Team Leadership: Supervise and manage the accounting team. Provide guidance and support to ensure the teams professional development and performance.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and effectiveness.
Cash Reconciliations: Improve the close process and ensure proper controls are in place.
