Directing the assigned business unit’s accounting and credit policies; oversees functions relating to accounting, internal controls, tax, and treasury; relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals of the company. Ability to form and maintain strong relationships with the team, across the organization and with the parent company.
Duties and Responsibilities Close books accurately (Utilities and Midstream and Marketing) and on a timely basis, while driving an exceptional control environment and providing insightful GAAP financial reporting. Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes within the company-mandated deadlines, including the preparation of monthly financial statements. Support the financial reporting standards for quarterly and annual reports on Form 10-K, including input to maintaining all disclosures in accordance with GAAP. Timely completion of all account reconciliations, including thorough review. No material accounting reconciliation problems and no post-close adjusting entries. Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, COSO Internal Control Framework and other public company requirements. Comply with all regulatory reporting requirements and serve as a key leader in the rate case process. Oversee process to complete a final required FERC and PUC financial reporting. Maintain a separate chart of accounts in accordance with the FERC Uniform System of Accounts. Partner with other UGI Utilities executives to develop rate case strategy and drive successful rate case outcomes. Serve as a subject matter expert across UGI Corporation in the area of accounting for regulatory companies (ASC 980). Work with IT and cross-functional technology deployment teams to ensure successful deployment and utilization of technology. Provide technical accounting expertise to aid business growth in Renewables and gathering & midstream assets. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Familiarity with accounting procedures, practices, and ability to work within these rules. Knowledge of governance standards and ability to implement controls. Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Ability to communicate and collaborate across all organization levels. Hands-on leader with ability to proactively respond to requests while ensuring all deliverables are met on time. Experience driving improvement or transformation. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance. 10+ years of experience primarily in finance, financial analysis, or accounting.
