Controllership Financial Analyst
Job Description

Work Arrangement:

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business.
 

The Role

This will play a key role in a project to transform Controllership reporting and consolidation activities. The project will focus on realigning processes to best leverage team strengths to streamlining and standardizing processes. Role will collaborate with several teams across Controllership, GBS, and IT, and work involves a high level of independent judgment, accuracy, creativity, and initiative. Role will serve as a Strategic Business Partner, bringing timely and insightful decisions to all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to SEC requirements, accounting, audit/SOX compliance and financial analyses, leveraging financial systems and processes that increase clarity, improve efficiency, shorten decision cycle times, and reinforce financial integrity and accountability.  

What You’ll Do

Lead workshops / meetings with multiple teams to understand processes.

Evaluate current accounting practices and policies and drive continuous improvement.

Partner with Controllership Modernization, GBS Transformation, IT, etc. to determine how to best leverage existing technology.

Identify and eliminate redundant and non-value-added work. 

Identify and eliminate collective pain points and reduce number of handoffs in processes. 

Bring creative solutions to the table to improve processes.

Partner with impacted teams to align the solution for process improvements.

With every proposal, maintain a strong control environment and high quality in reporting.

Identify, interpret and analyze potential accounting risks and issues.

Track and monitor the progress of projects and help resolve issues to bring them to completion.

Prepare presentation materials and present status to leadership, when applicable.

Work with a high level of independent judgement and initiative.

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

College degree with major in accounting or business administration or equivalent experience/ training

3+ years finance/accounting experience including combination of public/private

Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork and partnerships

Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills

Demonstrated project management skills, including ability to plan and prioritize multiple assignments within restricted time constraints

Demonstrated ability to work and lead with minimal supervision on unstructured assignments

Strong oral and written communication skills

Willingness to work on mid shift (flexible to EST hours)

What Will Give You A Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)

Certification - Certified Public Accountant

Highly proficient personal computer skills and technology driven

Experience with Power BI, KNIME, and Microsoft SharePoint

Experience with SAP and Hyperion systems

Passion for innovation, automation, and technology

Willingness to work flexible schedules to accommodate various time zones

High level of independent judgment and initiative

Fast learner and adaptor

Strong communication, build effective working relationships with business partners
