Controls Commissioning Engineer

Due to recent expansion within the business, we are seeking the expertise of accomplished Controls Commissioning Engineers to be a part of our UK Commissioning team and to also support Dematic’s wider EMEA project portfolio.

As a Controls Commissioning Engineer, you will perform Electrical and PLC software commissioning activities within the allocated cost and time scale constraints of the material-handling project. You will also ensure the commissioning activities follow the correct methods and standards to meet the requirements of the customer's project.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Main Job Objectives:

Deliver the assigned project scope and tasks by meeting\exceeding our safety, quality, On-Time-Delivery and budget requirements.

To commission controls systems on-site including electrical and PLC software commissioning and to provide support to system test activities and training for the end user

To produce commissioning documentation including, but not limited to, commissioning checklists, test specifications, Method Statements and Risk Assessments for Automated solutions to BS EN ISO 12100.

To interpret electrical schematics and design input information.

Ensure systems supplied are CE Compliant to the Machinery Directive.

Commission Safety Related Part of the Controls system solutions to the regulations and in accordance with BS EN ISO  13849/13850/60204 etc.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.

HNC or HND in Electrical/Controls Engineering.

Confident and fully conversant with automated systems commissioning procedures.

Experience with both PLC & Electrical commissioning activities.

Development software Siemens (S7, TIA) or Allan Bradley (RSLogix).

Familiar with AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Project, Outlook.

Conversant with SCADA –WinCC, Iconics, Ignition is desirable, but not essential.

Comfortable working with Industrial Networks such as Profinet, Profibus, ASi, EthernetIP or similar.

An understanding of automated warehouses is desirable, not essential.

Ability to understand Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings.

Ability to travel to customer sites for up to 80% of the time, both domestically and internationally.

Full driver’s license to support the travel requirements of the role.
