Job Description
As a Controls Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting plant operations, ensuring that all equipment and systems are running smoothly, efficiently, and safely. You will act as a technical resource, providing troubleshooting and root cause analysis for manufacturing issues while supporting maintenance and production teams. In addition to maintaining operations, you will contribute to capital projects, continuous improvements, and upgrades, ensuring high-quality product delivery.
ResponsibilitiesSupport plant operations by quickly addressing breakdowns and ensuring equipment is running efficiently.Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures, particularly focusing on PLC editing and troubleshooting.Participate in capital projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and upgrades within the plant.Provide technical expertise and support for plant operations to ensure safety and product quality.Perform root cause analysis and develop solutions for manufacturing issues.Create equipment bills of materials, scopes of work, and estimates for various projects and upgrades.Facilitate the implementation of electrical and control standards across the manufacturing environment.Commission and maintain equipment, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to standards.Work closely with IT and Operations Technology teams to address both software and hardware challenges.Essential SkillsProficiency in PLC and HMI programming, especially with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley systems.Strong knowledge of electrical design and control systems.Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving in both machines and software.Understanding of manufacturing processes, preferably in food and beverage settings.Ability to read and design electrical schematics and layouts.Experience with controls power distribution layouts and panel layouts.Knowledge of manufacturing process control networks, infrastructure, and security systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsDegree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Chemical).Experience with automation and manufacturing environments.Familiarity with Rslogix, Autocad, Siemens PLC, and HMI programming.Experience in electrical design and control system design.Ability to lead knowledge transfer and implementation of approved standards and practices.Work Environment
You will work in a dynamic manufacturing environment with varying and colder temperatures inside the plant. Your time will be divided between office settings and the factory floor, requiring adaptability to different conditions. Occasional travel between Sunnyside and Pasco may be necessary.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
