PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Design, specify, supervise installation and troubleshoot industrial control systems and electrical
infrastructure; provide high-quality design, scope, and cost/schedule estimates including
instrument and hardware specifications and system architecture; develop, support and
maintain RSView SE distributed HMI and Allen Bradley PLC control systems including the
configuration database, controller and operations descriptions, coding, display layouts and
simulations; provide process control support and troubleshooting in the day-to-day, continuous operations.
Reports to: Plant Maintenance Leader
Span of Control: Supports all technical, manufacturing, and quality processes at the Kansas City Plant
Direct Reports: no direct reports, but does assist in supervision of Electrical and Mechanical repairmen when applicable
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Live the OC Safety Stand and adhere to Employee Safety Responsibilities Build and foster an “incident-free” safety culture among all employees Utilize technical knowledge to provide a safe and secure work environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors Ensure all practices and procedures within their control are safe, environmentally compliant, and permit compliant
Provides leadership and project management to improve plant efficiency, equipment uptime, and line utilization at the Kansas City plant. Utilize Root Cause Analysis methods to problem solve process issues and increase equipment reliability, process capability, and improve product quality. Recommend action plans to minimize equipment failure related to controls. Liaison with equipment suppliers pertaining to any instrumentation and controls issues. Lead the commissioning activities during plant startup including preparing documentation. Apply sound engineering practices towards the completion of improvement projects in accordance with applicable codes and engineering practices. Coaches, trains, and provides support to maintenance technicians and production operators on the manufacturing process and process control interface procedures. Educating primary employees in the manufacturing process and process control procedures Partnering with employees to develop and implement Operator Control Plans Partnering with plant Technical Leaders to develop process controls that are accurate and usable.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
