Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to analyze existing equipment, processes, facilities, infrastructure, and systems to identify areas of improvement and recommend solutions to optimize performance. The ideal candidate will act as a subject matter expert for designated systems and technologies, providing technical recommendations and anticipating potential process-related problems and risks. You will perform troubleshooting and modifications to automated equipment adhering to pharmaceutical and medical device GMP change control standards and policies, create and modify system specifications and standard operating procedures, train users and peers on systems, support software life cycle efforts, and contribute to the development of continuous improvements to systems.
ResponsibilitiesAnalyze existing equipment, processes, facilities, infrastructure, and systems to identify areas of improvement and recommend solutions to optimize performance.Act as a subject matter expert for designated systems and technologies, providing technical recommendations.Anticipate potential process-related problems, risks, and technical conflicts, and develop necessary plans to improve business continuity.Perform troubleshooting and modifications to automated equipment adhering to pharmaceutical and medical device GMP change control standards and policies.Create and modify system specifications and standard operating procedures for supported systems.Train users and peers on systems.Support software life cycle efforts.Contribute to the development of continuous improvements to systems.Provide documentation, testing, commissioning, and validation support following GDP.Provide project implementation support.Perform administrative, upgrade, and maintenance tasks for equipment/control systems.Essential Skills4+ years of experience Strong experience within automated systems, helping to automate and maintain existing processes.Proficient in PLCs such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc. (AB is ideal but okay with any).Experience in PLC programming, automation, troubleshooting, and controls engineering.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in motion or servo control.Experience with Plant PAX and Rockwell software.Experience with Siemens PLC, GE PLC, Studio 5000, Step 7, Wonderware, FactoryTalk, OSI PI, Ignition, MES, Robotic/Fanuc, ABB, Rockwell Pharmasuite.Work Environment
You will work in a fast-paced, dynamic medical device company with advancement opportunities. The automation department, led by a highly experienced manager, comprises 28 engineers who are core technical experts. Due to being understaffed and one member on medical leave, the team is currently working overtime. Additional support is needed to manage the workload effectively.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $63.00 - $70.00
