Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a Controls Engineer for an 8-month contract position at a customer site in Lyons, Georgia. This full-time role involves working on-site at a brand new building and distribution center. The position is project-based with an 8-phase project segmented over 8 months. The initial phase begins at the end of April, requiring the candidate to start in the first week of April to get familiarized with the processes and team. There is a possibility of contract extension, although it is not guaranteed at this time.

ResponsibilitiesPerform PLC programming and debugging.Conduct IO checks and logical checks.Collaborate with electrical installers and read prints.Perform electrical installations and prechecks to determine terminations.Introduce power and conduct further IO checks.Handle electrical and PLC programming, including working with sensors and motors.Manually test systems to ensure correct motor polarity and feedback.Toggling with senior engineers to ensure HMI mapping and logical programming.Conduct rate testing and software interaction.Essential SkillsProficiency in troubleshooting and editing Allen Bradley PLC code using Studio5000.Ability to read and edit schematics in AutoCAD Electrical.Experience with motors and sensors.HMI programming.Electrical troubleshooting.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience writing code from scratch in Allen Bradley.Familiarity with Cognex barcode scanners and Siemens PLCs.Work Environment

This position is on-site at a brand new distribution center that is temperature controlled. The working hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with no expected overtime. There is no travel associated with this role, as it is confined to the Lyons, Georgia location. The environment offers an opportunity to gain controls knowledge with senior-level engineers on-site and a competitive pay rate due to the contract nature of the job.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
