Controls Engineer
Job Title: Controls Engineer Client is unable to provide visa sponsorship now or in the future. Job Description We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to lead all phases of controls projects. This includes concept and research, estimating support, component selection, network design, panel design, layout, device troubleshooting, PLC and HMI programming, on-site installation and debugging, as well as providing after-sales support. Responsibilities + Lead all phases of controls projects from concept and research through to after-sales support. + Perform PLC programming, debugging, and commissioning, primarily with Rockwell systems, but also some Siemens and Schneider. + Select and design components, networks, and panels. + Troubleshoot devices and perform on-site installations and debugging. + Provide after-sales support to ensure client satisfaction. + Handle VFDs, vision systems, material-handling equipment, servos, and sensors. + Design and implement FactoryTalk and HMI systems. + Ensure compliance with UL508a, NEC, and NFPA standards. Essential Skills + Experience in PLC programming and debugging. + Proficiency with Allen-Bradley, Rockwell systems (90% of the time), Siemens, and Schneider. + Strong knowledge of networking and Ethernet. + Familiarity with VFDs, servos, and sensors. + Understanding of UL508a, NEC, and NFPA standards. + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or relevant experience in controls engineering. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with material handling and baggage handling systems. + Proficiency in using FactoryTalk, HMI systems. + Knowledge of vision systems. + Strong troubleshooting and commissioning skills. Work Environment This role involves working in both office settings and field locations, with 30-50% travel required. Travel schedules typically involve 10 days on and 4 days off, but flexibility is necessary. Per diem for meals is based on the GSA rate for each location, and an additional hour of pay is provided for every overnight stay. While there is no standard relocation package, a sign-on bonus may be offered to accommodate relocation needs.
