Controls Engineer
OBJECTIVE Lead and coordinate technical aspects of industrial furnace projects for steel, aluminum, and strip processing manufacturers under the supervision of the Manager of Electrical & Automation. Projects typically encompass combustion/controls upgrades, furnace rebuilds, field service, and comprehensive equipment design/supply/installation/commissioning activities. RESPONSIBILITIES + Assume overall technical responsibility and coordination for assigned projects + Serve as lead engineer on larger projects + Develop mathematical equations representing physical systems and translate them into computer code + Create technical specifications and requisition documentation + Provide fabrication and panel instructions + Represent the company at customer technical meetings + Create and maintain detailed project work schedules + Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports + Work both independently and collaboratively with project teams + Travel domestically and internationally for project startup and commissioning activities, including potential extended assignments REQUIREMENTS + Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Automation Engineering (experienced technologists considered) + Knowledge of NFPA 86 electrical guidelines + 10+ years' experience with Rockwell ControLogix PLC/HMI systems + Strong PLC programming skills + Experience with Siemens S7 PLC and VFD equipment + Field startup experience in industrial settings + Proficiency in RSLogix, RSView, Wonderware, and Siemens Step 7 + Knowledge of Ethernet, Device Net, and Profibus systems + Ability to work independently and in teams + Strong customer relationship skills + Practical problem-solving abilities + Good communication skills + Willing to travel domestically and internationally + Microsoft Office proficiency + Customer-focused with commitment to teamwork #M1 #LI-PK1 Ref: #282-Eng Pgh System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, CM Access, TPGS, and MOUNTAIN, LTD., are leaders in delivering workforce solutions and integrated services across North America.
