The Engineer I is a hands-on oriented engineer responsible for providing electrical and/or mechanical engineering support for industrial automation with a passion for engineering and technology and aspirations to continue to grow in expertise to take on continuously more advanced projects and challenges.
What you'll be doing
Provide hands on engineering for all assigned projects by designing and solving mechanical systems related to industrial automation processes
Manage numerous projects at the same time while coordinating efforts with management, engineering, and factory personnel to meet completion dates and minimize production down time
Responsible for time and budget estimates related to capital improvement projects
Act as technical resource to assist in plant process improvements
Testing and validation of manufacturing systems from concept thru production by interacting with various groups and multi-functional teams
Required to complete applicable documentation in support of projects
Provide ongoing support of continuous improvement projects to meet yearly value improvement goals
Provide technical leadership and support during daily manufacturing operations
Troubleshoot and debug mechanical systems in a fast paced manufacturing environment
Be responsible as a project leader for insuring compliance to GMP/QSR, ISO9000 and ISO 13485 regulations during all phases of project implementation
What you'll bring
Bachelor of Science in Engineering required
Creative, highly motivated, dependable professional with a positive attitude and enthusiasm for engineering and technology
Must be a dedicated and reliable hands-on professional who has the capability to excel in self-directed and team environments to meet the customer needs and requirements
Proven ability to troubleshoot, debug, and support manufacturing machinery
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Computer skills that include use of Microsoft Office and Excel
2D and 3D computer aided design experience preferred
For Electrical Engineering candidates:
Proficient with PLC programming and control systems design (Examples: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Contron Technology Inc (CTI), Automation Direct, Profibus, and Device Net,) developing standard modules and extensive custom code. Good understanding of PID control systems.
For Mechanical Engineering candidates:
Basic knowledge of CAD design and ability to use either SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor software to create conceptual designs and communicate with fabrication shops.
Ability to implement process improvements in the infrastructure of existing automated mechanical systems with guidance from an experienced engineer
Proficient written and verbal communication skills including Microsoft Office
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $72,000 - $99,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
