Responsibilities Support, repair, and upgrade installed systems at customer facilitiesProvide after-hours controls support of customer automation systems as required and maintaining remote access credentialsProvide onsite support of high level and complex electrical / mechanical and controls installationsElectrical/mechanical troubleshooting of automation systems to reduce customer downtimeResponsible for scratch development and modification of existing PLC and HMI software for customer automation systems on a project basisAssist project manager in developing project schedulesOn-site commissioning of equipment from primarily a controls standpoint with in-depth knowledge of the electrical / mechanical installation as wellLead on-site project team, including external vendors, to a successful implementationDevelop documentation and knowledge base articles as required by projects for internal and external useSubject matter expert in multiple Swisslog technologies and/or customers; able to support customer and junior members with knowledge of these technologiesReading and programming in multiple PLC languages in use by Swisslog for project and training purposesProvides onsite team with guidance on Swisslog standards for electrical wiring and labelingTravel as required to support projects, which may include weekend and holidays. Application Requirements 5-7 years of experience in technical environment inclusive of strong electrical/mechanical troubleshootingAbility to troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems using PLC software to localize issuesAbility to read and modify PLC code written in multiple different languagesKnowledgeable in Siemens Step 7 Classic and TIA Portal with familiarity of their programming languages (Ladder, statement list, and function block diagram)Ability to multi-task and work independentlyHighly proactive and self-motivatedIndustrial experience with sound knowledge of electro-mechanical or automation systemsApplication knowledge of warehouse distribution systems (pallet or tote conveyor, storage and retrieval machines, monorail systems, etc)Experience with AC Variable Frequency Drives and low voltage controls systemsExperience programming Variable Frequency Drives from scratchKnowledge of controls programming languages like: Ladder, Statement List, Function Block Diagram, or Structured TextExperience with Siemens Step 7 Classic, Siemens TIA Portal, and/or Allen Bradley/Rockwell SoftwareExcellent verbal/written communication skillsRead and interpret electrical and mechanical drawingsHigh level of motivation and sound work ethicCustomer interaction and problem resolution knowledgeDevelop how to and work documentation for internal and external reviewTravel as required to support projects, which may include weekends and some holidays
