Controls Engineer ISC-Planta Irapuato

Serve as the technical backbone for manufacturing cells, translating complex operational requirements into automation solutions that drive efficiency, quality, and safety.

Establish and maintain the equipment control standards, ensuring consistency across all automation platforms.

The responsibilities extend to hardware selection, programming architecture development, robot sequence optimization, commissioning processes, and thorough system validation. Also play a crucial role in ensuring operational safety through comprehensive auditing, proper installation practices, and detailed safety assessments that protect both personnel and equipment.

Bachelor degreed:  Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics / Electronics Engineer with product testing expertise demonstrable.

Automotive Industry Experience- in Electric Vehicles desirable.

Master multiple PLC platforms (B&R Automation Studio, Beckhoff TwinCAT, and Siemens TIA Portal), developing control logic in both structured text and ladder logic Engineer robust control sequences for complex multi-station machinery, orchestrating precise coordination of material handling, dispensing operations, fastening processes, welding applications, testing protocols, and material transport systems Leverage Python scripting and SQL database expertise to create seamless interfaces between automated equipment and our Manufacturing Execution System (MES), enabling real-time data collection and analysis in production databases Design intuitive operator interfaces using advanced HMI platforms, implementing visualization systems that balance information density with usability Configure servo drives and VFDs (Schneider, B&R, Beckhoff, Siemens, SEW) to precise positioning, smooth acceleration curves, and energy-efficient operation. Implement complex motion control applications including synchronized multi-axis movements, electronic gearing, camming profiles, and high-speed positioning systems Design and implement control-reliable safety systems that protect operators while maintaining production efficiency. Create comprehensive safety architectures for hazardous equipment including robots, high-speed gantries, conveyor systems, and other automated manufacturing equipment Participate actively in early equipment conceptual development, balancing requirements including product specifications, process constraints, spatial limitations, cost targets, and timeline requirements Manage relationships with automation suppliers throughout the project lifecycle, from initial specification development through design reviews, factory acceptance testing, installation, and final commissioning Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, process engineers, manufacturing, and maintenance to ensure holistic system design and implementation
