Tasks and Qualifications:Tasks and Qualifications:Main Job Objective
Deliver the assigned project scope and tasks by meeting\exceeding our safety, quality, On-Time-Delivery and budget requirements.
To produce PLC software and/or visualization systems.
To emulate and test PLC software.
To interpret electrical schematics and design input information.
To lead controls engineering activities related to project design and implementation.
To lead controls engineering design teams.
Provide technical guidance.
Ensure systems designed and supplied are CE Compliant to the Machinery Directive
To produce of all associated documentation including, but not limited to, design calculations, design specifications, Method Statements and Risk Assessments, operation and maintenance manuals, and test specifications.
To commission controls systems on site and to provide support to system commissioning activities and training for the end user
To assist in the development of the global Dematic controls standard.

Qualifications & Experience
HNC/HND in Electrical/Mechatronics/Controls Engineering as a minimum.
Experience in a similar role.
Extensive proven hands-on experience working within an industrial automation environment.
Advanced understanding of PLC development tools.
Good understanding of Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings.
Understanding of design requirements such as Machine Directive and its standards including safety standards.
Good understanding of distributed control systems.
Extensive understanding of software testing and emulation.
Previous use of CAD tools.
Understanding of automated warehouse desirable not essential.
Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering
Special Conditions:
Role will require 60% travel to customer sites within the EMEA European region and occasional travel to other Dematic offices or facilities across Europe in the undertaking of duties.
Possibility to be home base.
