Tasks and Qualifications:Main Job Objectives
Deliver the assigned project scope and tasks by meeting\exceeding our safety, quality, On-Time-Delivery and budget requirements. To produce PLC software and/or visualization systems.To emulate and test PLC software.To interpret electrical schematics and design input information.To lead controls engineering activities related to project design and implementation.To lead controls engineering design teams.Provide technical guidance.Ensure systems designed and supplied are CE Compliant to the Machinery DirectiveTo produce of all associated documentation including, but not limited to, design calculations, design specifications, Method Statements and Risk Assessments, operation and maintenance manuals, and test specifications.To commission controls systems on site and to provide support to system commissioning activities and training for the end userTo assist in the development of the global Dematic controls standard.General Responsibilities

HNC/HND in Electrical/Controls Engineering as a minimumDesirable: Educated to degree level in a relevant disciplineExperience in a similar roleExtensive proven hands-on experience working within an industrial automation environmentAdvanced understanding of PLC development toolsGood understanding of Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawingsUnderstanding of design requirements such as Machine Directive and its standards including safety standardsGood understanding of distributed control systemsExtensive understanding of software testing and emulationPrevious use of CAD toolsUnderstanding of automated warehouse desirable not essentialDeliver the assigned project scope and tasks by meeting\exceeding our safety, quality, On-Time-Delivery and budget requirements. Bachelor or Master degree in EngineeringFunctional competencies

Fully conversant with Siemens TIA Portal PLC and HMI software design and implementation,To be conversant with Word, Excel, and Outlook.To be conversant with SCADA – desirable not essentialFully conversant with Industrial Networks such as Profinet, Profibus, ASi, EthernetIP or similarTo be conversant with E-plan – desirable not essentialFully conversant with commissioning procedures, setting up devices such as barcode scanners, and sensors.Understand and use relevant design requirements such as the Machinery Directive and its harmonised standards including safety standardsSpecial Conditions:
Role will require 60% travel to customer sites within the EMEA European region including travel to other Dematic offices or facilities across Europe in the undertaking of duties.Possibility to be home based.
