The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.
This role in summaryCoordinate the daily activities required of the controls technician and automation support resources.
Your responsibilities will include Direct work assignments for Controls & higher-level tech resources. Manage the team escalation process.Act as the main point of contact for controls during normal and after-hours support.Interface with IT to ensure networking systems are functional, production safe and comply with InSinkErator configuration requirements.Work with new machine vendors during equipment design, build, installation, and start-up to ensure systems meet control requirements.Lead risk reduction efforts (projects) in the obsolescence of control systems.Lead manufacturing system recovery strategy for high-risk assets.Manage equipment standards (Controls System) & new system design.Minimum requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent in STEM field.2+ Years of experience with Control Systems.Minimum of 2 years supervising others.Manufacturing experience required.PLC and Robotic experience (Allen Bradley and Fanuc)Preferred skills and experiences Good communicator with strong written and articulation skills.Project management and team-building skills.Database Management a plus (not required).Middleware Software (Ignition, Brideworx, FactoryTalk) is a plus but not required.Additional informationWhirlpool’s Ways of Working
