Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager with expertise in controls and automation systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical or software engineering, specifically in automation, and will be responsible for managing the renewal and upgrade of control automation equipment.
ResponsibilitiesManage projects involving controls system drives renewals with hands on PLC experience.Oversee automation, electrical, and control systems projects.Work with pressure measurement and automation robots (Level 0 and Level 1 automation).Utilize and upgrade PLC, HMI, DCS, and SCADA systems.Understand and work with motors and related components.Ensure familiarity with controls and automation, including single line diagrams, functional descriptions, and piping.Follow project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & control, and closeout processes.Identify, justify, specify, develop, and implement benchmark technical solutions to bring financial benefits in project delivery.Schedule approval and delivery of projects as required in the capital plan.Manage project costs within budget and provide monthly cost forecasts.Coordinate procurement with purchasing, including expediting, FAT, delivery, and contract management.Drive and coordinate construction engineering with discipline engineering groups.Complete risk and opportunity assessments during project development and maintain throughout the project.Manage all project changes to scope, schedule, and budget using the PCR process.Identify and request discipline engineering resources using the discipline request process.Conduct regular meetings with the project team and issue meeting minutes with action items.Compile monthly project status reports and report proactively as appropriate.Capture lessons learned and perform timely project closeouts.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.Experience in project management, construction, and construction management.Experience with automation, electrical assembly, and control systems.Experience with PLC, HMI, DCS, and SCADA systems.Experience in capital investment processes including business case, technical studies, project scope development, equipment procurement, risk management, planning, scheduling, commissioning, and start-up.Completed required safety training and safety worksite training.Experience with procurement processes, project sourcing, capital planning, quality systems, maintenance planning, and reliability systems.Experience in applying construction management standards and health & safety standards.Experience in managing subcontractors and stakeholders.Additional Skills & QualificationsPMP certification.MBA or PMP certification is considered an asset.Ten (10) years of job-related experience is preferred.Work Environment
The work environment includes a 40-hour work week, with no overtime expected. The standard shift is from 8 AM to 5 PM, with some flexibility for appointments or exceptions. The team consists of 10-12 Project Managers, a project controls group, a manager of the PMO, an engineering department, and a business unit team. The business unit team leader works with internal PMO leads and VPs as well as external subcontractors. The candidate will work on-site and engage with various departments to ensure project success.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $90.00
