Company/Location Overview

Buffalo Trace Distillery is an American family-owned company based in Frankfort, Franklin County, Kentucky. The Distillery's rich tradition dates back to 1773 and includes such legends as E.H. Taylor, Jr., George T. Stagg, Albert B. Blanton, Orville Schupp, and Elmer T. Lee. 

 

Buffalo Trace Distillery is a fully operational Distillery producing bourbon, rye and vodka on site and is a National Historic Landmark as well as is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Distillery has won 17 distillery titles since 2000 from such notable publications as Whisky Magazine, Whisky Advocate Magazine and Wine Enthusiast Magazine. It was named “Brand Innovator of the Year” by Whisky Magazine at its Icons of Whisky America Awards 2015.  Buffalo Trace Distillery has also garnered more than 300 awards for its wide range of premium whiskies.  The distillery is part of the Sazerac family of companies.

Job Description/Responsibilities

Buffalo Trace Distillery is seeking applicants for Controls Technician to join our team in Frankfort, KY, this is a night shift position, with a starting salary of $32.77 per hour.

 

Primary responsibilities include (however may not be limited to):

Skilled performance of all plant electrical duties including PLC & MCC installation and maintenanceEnsure PLCs, robots, and any additional automation is functioning as expectedRead electrical schematicsPossess ability to install, trouble-shoot and maintain conduit wire, motors and electrical equipment on 240-volt, 3 phase and 440-volt systemsAbility to install variable speed drives and troubleshoot electronic control systems including electric eyes and relaysAbility to program A.B. programmable logic controls.Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, adjust, clean and maintain machinery, equipment, fixtures, piping and plumbing systems, etc. Read blueprints, manuals, drawings, computer screens, sketches and/or oral instructions Qualifications/Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in industrial automationA record of successful maintenance experience with a mastery of skills needed to perform everyday maintenance tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing facilityHands-on experience with electrical, PLC programming and hardware, and equipment troubleshootingAbility/Willingness to work second or third shiftSuccessful candidates will be required to receive acceptable scores on several tests including mechanical and electrical aptitude exams, pre-employment physical, and drug/alcohol screeningMust demonstrate a high level of initiative and problem solving abilitiesDetail-oriented and demonstrated ability to perform work with high degree of accuracyAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings and ladder logicAbility to operate industrial equipment.Good communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent safety and attendance recordsHigh School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

Associates Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance or Journeyman ElectricianManufacturing systems experienceRockwell Automation Controls trainingAllen Bradley PLC programming experience
