Controls Technician
Job description

In alignment with Company vision, mission, values and objectives, the Automation Technician will troubleshoot, repair, maintain and improve automation systems to the plant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Develops and maintains PLC/HMI/SCADA systems. Analyzes operating problems using advanced PLC controls. Maintains automation related systems (PLC/HMI/VFD/Instrumentation/Calibration/Network) and implements required updates to avoid technical obsolescence. Supports PC based supervisory control systems. Analyzes, troubleshoots and participates in upgrades of existing electrical distribution and devices, including motors, drives, valves and sensors. Works closely with the Production and Engineering to coordinate changes in the production process and resolve equipment malfunctions. Supports data communications networks and instrumentations. Collects, interprets and extrapolates data from the production process to monitor current equipment performance against established baselines and applies appropriate corrective actions. Update electrical drawings as needed. Prepares and maintains data sheets, wiring and Process &Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and flow charts required for the proper and efficient operation of plant equipment. Installs electrical equipment/electrical power lines (480 V and below). Assures good housekeeping practices following 5S systems, enforces plant rules and safety regulations and supports VMVO and WCM initiatives. Continuously evaluates workplace for safety concerns and ensures behavioral safety initiatives are performed to goal levels.
