Hexcel is currently seeking a Controls Technician for our Casa Grande, AZ, USA location.  This is a salaried, non-exempt position. Core on-site hours are 7:00AM to 3:00PM, Monday – Friday + O/T as required. 

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

Responsible for maintenance support of facilities automation, controls, and equipment communication systems.  Programs and troubleshoots control systems and instrumentation. Develops SCADA and operator HMI systems and controls.Initializes and troubleshoots Allen Bradley PowerFlex and Baldor VFDs as well as a variety of Allen Bradley servo drive systems.Provides instrumentation and calibration support and training for electricians, including ownership of calibration methods.  Supports training and development of staff electricians.Configures tag-based monitoring services for control devices (VantagePoint).Responsible for, or assists in, the start-up and qualification of control systems on new equipment.Executes controls projects under the guidance of engineering.Troubleshoots electrical controls related process issues.  Supports production uptime efforts and root cause determination of downtime events.Works on weekends and holidays when requested.Must have full working set of essential mechanical tools.

Qualifications:

Associate Degree or equivalent Technical Degree in Electronics Technology or Automation field from an accredited college or technical school, plus a minimum of two years’ experience with industrial controls required; OR a minimum of six years’ directly related Control Technician experience in a closely related manufacturing industry.Proficiency in PLC programming.  Proficiency with Rockwell Software platforms such as RSLogix, FactoryTalk, View SE/ME.Working knowledge of Ethernet networking principles and managed switch configuration.Demonstrated experience creating and reading logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming simulation, testing, and start-up.  Demonstrated experience with instrumentation calibration.Valid Driver License.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Ability to apply mathematical concepts to electronic formulas.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as determination of test reliability and validity and electronic theory.  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
