Job Title: Engineering Specialist
Job Description

As an Engineering Specialist, you will evaluate existing manufacturing systems and develop new systems to optimize production methods and efficiencies, machine utilization, component capacity, material flow, worker safety, environmental stewardship, and product quality. You will work closely with the plant’s maintenance personnel, respond to trouble calls from the manufacturing area, support production and maintenance to ensure smooth operation, and perform changes, debugging, and programming to PLC programs. Staying current with manufacturing and engineering technologies and independently solving problems to minimize downtime are also key aspects of the role. Additionally, maintaining the stockroom, including ordering components, organizing inventory, receiving and putting away orders, and keeping the stockroom orderly, is required.

ResponsibilitiesEvaluate and develop manufacturing systems to optimize various production metrics.Collaborate with maintenance personnel and respond to manufacturing trouble calls.Support production and maintenance to ensure smooth operations.Perform changes, debugging, and programming to PLC programs.Stay abreast of current manufacturing and engineering technologies.Independently solve problems to minimize downtime.Maintain the stockroom, including ordering and organizing inventory, and keeping the stockroom orderly.Essential Skills3+ years of experience supporting production in a manufacturing environment.Experience within the automotive industry.Experience troubleshooting automated equipment from both mechanical and PLC perspectives.Experience in root causing issues related to production.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Mitsubishi PLC and Fanuc Robots.Experience working with Pneumatics & Hydraulics, MIG Welding, Linking Welders, Fronius Welders, Fastening, Injection Welding, Spot Welding, Laser Welding, and Material Handling equipment.Inventory control experience.Experience programming HMIs.Ability to work with little supervision and be self-directed.Work Environment

The position operates on an afternoon shift from 4:30 PM to 1 AM, with potential flexibility to start at 3 PM. This is a fully on-site role with no travel required. You will report to the Engineering/Maintenance Manager but will be the standalone engineer supporting issues and downtime during afternoon shifts. There will be a 15-30 minute overlap with the day shift to discuss expectations and events. Initially, you will work day shifts for a few weeks to get up to speed and will collaborate with other maintenance teammates during the afternoon shifts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $45.00/hr.
