Job Description
The Production Engineering, Powertrain Department is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Seibi Technician. This role focuses on executing machine setup, increasing operational availability through continuous improvement, and solving technical issues. The Seibi Technician will support capital projects from planning through the start of production, engaging in jishuken activities, and utilizing the TBP process to solve chronic issues.
ResponsibilitiesExecute machine setup as North American machine setup personnel.Increase operational availability (OA) through continuous improvement and problem-solving technical issues.Support the Powertrain department's objective to execute capital projects from planning through start of production (SOP).Engage with other groups/departments in jishuken activities.Utilize the TBP process to solve chronic OA and workability issues.Develop and manage denwacho for assigned work area.Track and countermeasure punch list items for areas of concern.Engage in functional activities and complex problem solving individually and within the working group.Utilize MK/MMR/MMS revision processes to drive global machine spec improvements.Plan and execute equipment commissioning activity for assigned work area.Demonstrate the ability to learn new processes as required.Support VTO/ITO/Production trials.Certify the safety of equipment per MMR/MMS via 'Safety Check'.Essential SkillsExperience with PLC programming, including the ability to read, interpret, and modify.Experience with input/output for machine-to-machine communication.Experience with NC programming, including the ability to read, interpret, and modify.Experience with pneumatic/hydraulic systems, including the ability to read, interpret, and modify.Experience with performing static accuracy measurements.High School Diploma or equivalent.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in an engineering or maintenance role in a high-volume manufacturing facility (2 years preferred).Experience with fabrication/modification of simple parts (brackets, guarding, etc.) preferred.Experience using Job Instruction Sheets (JIS) preferred.Experience creating Job Instruction Sheets and Job Safety Analysis (JIS/JSA) preferred.Work Environment
The work environment includes flexible schedules and a focus on work/life balance. Although travel can be a factor, rotation of weeks can be arranged. The role may require domestic and international travel, including training in Japan. The company offers 10 PTO days and 9 paid holidays per calendar year. Any hours worked over 40 are compensated at time and a half, and travel for contractors is taken care of. The position involves long-term, open-ended contracts, with the possibility of transitioning to full-time employment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $43.00/hr.
