JOB SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of the Utility Porter Convention is to provide courteous, friendly service to customer or guests during meeting and banquet functions. The Convention Houseperson is responsible for the accurate set up and take down of all meetings and catered events.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Set tables by arranging place setting in accordance with prescribed procedure and diagram. Pick up litter or trash from public areas. Clean public and back-of-house restrooms. Strike or clean a banquet or function room by removing tables, linens, trash, etc. Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies. Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:
Have worked or is currently working a customer service position. Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner. Work requires schedule flexibility which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Must possess the skills to lift, push or pull convention tables, chairs, and other convention equipment of 50 Lbs. Must be able to work in areas including but not limited to; indoors, outdoors, restrooms, garage, and loading dock. Must be able to work high-volume, high-profile events. Must present a neat and professional appearance with good hygiene. Work requires interactions with customers, public and co-workers.
