Location: New Hartford, NY Category: Sitrin Health Care Center Posted On: Wed Oct 9 2024 Job Description: DEPARTMENT: Dietary POSITION: Cook SUPERVISOR: Food Services Manager PAY RATE: $16.00-$18.00 per hour, commensurate with experience HOURS: Full Time, 6:30am-2:30pm or 11am-7pm Duties: + Responsible for all hot food production for meals covered during shift + Responsible for all baking done in kitchen + Responsible for assigning daily cold food production to dietary aides + Meets with clinical RD/DTR to determine menu and/or recipe selections + Responsible for apportioning of foods for meal being served in correct quantities + Responsible for providing the correct food consistencies for all menu items + Responsible for placing of all leftover, perishable foods from the meal into proper storage including labeling and dating each item + Responsible for taking samples of each meal item, dating, labeling and storing for three days said items + Follow sanitation codes, policies including proper glove use, hair restraint and uniform + Responsible for the supervision of the dietary department in the absence of the Director of Dining Services, Assistant and Clinical Nutrition Staff + Performs duties according to the highest ethical and moral standards and in adherence with the facility's corporate compliance plan and all applicable governing laws. Adheres to the facility's confidentiality statement in accessing safeguarding protected health information (PHI) of residents and employees, as necessary to perform job duties. + Able to follow and prepare recipes. + Responsible for the preparation of all foods on the menu, in the absence of the head cook, night cook. + Puree and ground foods to proper departmental standards. + Responsible for apportioning of foods for assigned meals to all dining rooms in correct quantities in the absence of cook. + Responsible for serving assigned dining room with correct portion sizes. + Responsible for storing leftover foods properly with labels, dates and times. + Responsible for recording temperatures of all prepared foods and taking corrective action if wrong. + May lift supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs. + Follow all HACCAP Regulations. + Responsible for the supervision of the Dietary Department in the absence of the Director of Dining Services or the Operations Manager + Performs any other duties assigned by the Director of Dining Services and/or the Operations Manager Job Requirements: Qualifications: Ability to follow instructions (verbal and written), ability to endure up to four consecutive hours of standing / walking. Knowledge and ability to prepare quantity foods so as to preserve nutrients and to prepare foods appealing in appearance and palatable and lift up to 50lbs. Additional Information: Charles T.
