The cook prepares meals for hospital patients, guests, employees, and catered events following standardized recipes and established policies. The role involves adhering to Customer Service Standards, ensuring patient and safety protocols are followed, and demonstrating Family Centered Care principles in interactions with patients, their families, guests, and colleagues.

Schedule

Full-time | 72 hours every two weeks Evening Shifts | 4 days per week | 2 p.m. -12:30 a.m. Every other weekend and rotating holidays required

Pay and Benefits

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED In lieu of post high school training, one year cooking or related experience in our hospital or similar institution, restaurant or catering production will be accepted. Food Safety Training accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-Conference for Food Protection (CFP). Can be 
ServSafe or TAP Series. 1 1/2 Yrs Required Post High School Degree Post high school specialized training in volume and/or institutional cooking preferred Technical or cooking school certificates. preferred Knowledge of sanitation and HACCP preferred Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
