Purpose Statement

The Cook's primary responsible of the cook is to prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, or other assigned menu items.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices May assist in planning menus and in devising means of using left-over foods Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking; observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing with utensils Season and cook food according to recipes and use personal judgment and experience Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to designated recipes Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve food to waiters or patrons Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters Carve and trim meats; bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods; Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables; bake breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries Prepare relishes and hors d'oeuvres Knowledge, Skills, and Experience High School Diploma Experience in food preparation and service, at least 1 to 2 years Active listening skills and good reading skills; Ability to work from written menus and standard recipes Thorough knowledge of the materials, methods, and equipment used in preparing food on a large scale Serve Safe or comparable certification Knowledge of food values, menu planning, and uses for left-over food; Ability to take inventory and keep records of food used Work well in a team environment Able to stand for extended periods of time
Able to lift up to 50 pounds

 

COMPENSATION

In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates (“Rich’s”), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.

 

Annual Range/Hourly Rate

$16.00 - $25.00
