Fishers Event Center has an excellent and immediate opening for a part-time Cook II. Cook II prepares, handles, coordinates a variety of concessions food items in the facility.   

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils. 

Cook and package batches of food, such as burgers, chicken tenders, fries, hotdogs, and prepared BBQ meats. 

Wash and peel ingredients in order for them to be used in different meals. 

Cut and portion different types of meat according to specifications. 

Prepare different types of food, carefully following the recipes. 

Accept or reject ingredients from food supplier based on their appearance and quality. 

Keep track of ingredient quantities and ensure there are always enough for the day/week/event. 

Store ingredients in dedicated containers, making sure that they are best preserved. 

Clean and sanitize the working surfaces, tools, utensils and working area 

Carefully direct the food temperature and the temperature from cooling rooms to ensure that the ingredients kept are kept at the appropriate temperature. 

Must take direction well. 

Deliver high quality products. 

Keep food spoilage below minimum. 

Maintain high standards of cleanliness, each stand must be cleaned after each event. 

Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as deep-fat fryers. 

Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas. 

Follow rules and regulations of SAVOR. 

Clean, stock and inventory workstation, checking inventory in and out, and being accountable for all inventories. 

Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. 

Regular attendance is an essential job function. 

Working hours vary by show to include days, nights, weekdays, and weekends 

Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications  

Must have attention to details. 

Must be able to adapt to change in the work environment, managing, competing demands, frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events. 

Must be compliant with health codes. 

Must be able to work flexible hours, irregular hours may exist. 

 

Education and/or Experience           

High school diploma or GED preferred. 

One-year certificate from culinary school or comparable experience. 

 

Skills and Abilities   

Ability to read and interpret recipes and prep list. 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. 

Basic knife skills

 COMPENSATION $14 - $17/hr
