Summary: Under general supervision, this position opens and closes the hotel Kitchen+Bar following Company policies and procedures. This position is responsible for maintaining the food prep and hotel bar area in a clean, well-organized manner while serving and assisting guests. It is important that this team member present a high standard of integrity, service, and hospitality at all times to promote the Drury culture with customers and fellow team members. Has general knowledge of the hotel, area, and events to answer questions.

Required Qualifications:

Must be 21 years old or older.

One year bartending experience preferred.

A high school diploma or equivalent.

Ability to obtain and maintain all appropriate certifications per Company requirements.

Ability to take written and verbal direction in English and communicate effectively in English.

Ability to mix and serve a wide variety of drinks in a fast-paced environment. Performs duties of bartender, prep cook, and cocktail server or other positions as needed. 

Ability to handle money, make change and utilize office machines in normal day-to-day activities.

Ability to operate machines and equipment used, including but not limited to, cash register, POS software, dishwashers, kitchen equipment, etc.

Cooks and assembles food orders according to recipe card guidelines.

Excellent customer service skills; ability to communicate effectively with guests and all levels of team members; ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism including bar guests and when leading other team members.

Ability to open and close bar, obtain all supplies necessary for mixing cocktails, and clean and maintain areas for which responsible.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Provides courteous, friendly guest service by anticipating guests’ needs and responding promptly and efficiently to inquiries, requests and complaints.

Opens and closes hotel Kitchen+Bar, manages a clean and safe working environment, maintains accurate cash balance, and handles money in a secure manner according to Drury procedures.

During service hours, maintains serving areas by restocking as needed; cleans counters, floors and tables as needed and greets/interacts with guests by engaging in friendly conversation.

Assists guests with menu and beverage selection demonstrating salesmanship with complete menu and product knowledge.

Prepares/pours and serves alcoholic beverages following recipe card guidelines.

Refuses to serve liquor to anyone who is underage and/or who appears intoxicated. Follows all company policies regarding alcohol service.

Throughout service and after service has ended, washes all kitchen smallwares and serviceware according to sanitation guidelines. Cleans dining, bar, and kitchen areas, equipment, and floors. Saves, stores, and puts away all food according to HACCP food practices. Restocks all supplies as needed.

Appreciates the diversity of our team and guests and contributes to maintaining a positive work environment at all times.

Works as a team with other Kitchen+Bar team members. 

Attends and participates in all required meetings and provide follow up as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

One or more years’ experience working with and preparing food.

Requires ability to walk and stand during entire shift.

Requires ability to lift up to 30 pounds intermittently.

Requires the ability to reach, stretch, and bend in routine daily events.

Work Environment:

Requires ability to work with and prepare food and alcoholic beverages.

Works independently or within a team environment

Works in a fast-paced environment

Is flexible working varying shifts and time schedules as needed including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Supervisory Duties:

Reports to the Assistant General Manager
