Cooking Studio Porter | Dish Washer

As a Cooking Studio Porter, you will be responsible for keeping all areas of the kitchen and cooking studio clean during and following all events and classes held in the Pleasantville Cooking Studio. You will be working with the culinary team, ensuring a great experience for our guests. You will work with the resident chef and culinary program manager, chef instructors, kitchen assistants and guests. 

In this role, you can be expected to do the following:

Arranging table settings and workstations as advised by culinary staff. Assisting teammates in the preparation and set up of all cooking classes and events. Washing dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwashers or by hand. Placing clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in appropriate storage areas. Maintaining all kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in a clean and orderly condition. Sweeping and/or scrubbing counters, floors & cupboards following every event/class. Cleaning garbage cans with water or steam. Sorting and removing trash, placing it in designated pickup areas. Receiving, storing, and transferring supplies or equipment between storage and work areas. Assisting with loading and/or unloading food and supply delivery trucks. Additional responsibilities as assigned by Resident Chef.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum of 1 year dishwashing (including handwashing of knives, glassware) experience preferred. Minimum of 1 year kitchen experience preferred. Must have high-energy and be a self-starter. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as scheduled. Ability to remain in a stationary position for 2-3 hours at a time. Ability to reach, push, grab, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, etc. to retrieve and/or replenish merchandise or handle cooking equipment. Ability to move and/or lift merchandise and/or kitchen equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Must work well in fast-paced environments and be able to contribute to building a best-in-class culture of customer responsiveness, constant improvement, and teamwork. High level of commitment and responsibility. Superior organizational skills with ability to manage and execute multiple tasks with accuracy.  Close attention to detail.  Effective time management skills. A High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required for this role

Hourly Rate: $16.35
