**8:30 am - 5:00pm/ Full Time/ 40 Hours**
Salary range - $22.56 - $30.22
We're seeking a **Coord, SPD HL Disinfection for Emory Healthcare Inc,** responsible for being a capable certified technician who cares about the quality of their work an ensuring the safety for all patients.
This individual will:
+ The High-Level Disinfection (HLD) Coordinator supports and manages the operational and business needs of areas performing High-Level Disinfection and Sterilization procedures for EHC as a system.
+ This role works closely with Sterile Processing Department leadership to ensure adherence to corporate policies, regulatory compliance, and strategic goals.
+ The HLD Coordinator will report directly to the Enterprise Director of Sterile Processing and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive performance, education, and continuous improvement in HLD processes.
+ PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Identify and address issues related to high-level disinfection processes, educational gaps, and resource needs. 2. Develop and recommend solutions to Clinic Managers, Infection Preventionists, and Enterprise Director of Sterile Processing. 3. Gather and analyze data to inform decision-making processes.
+ 4. Provide detailed analysis and recommendations for process improvements based on data trends. 5. Conduct regular audits and compliance reviews in all HLD-performing areas. 6. Facilitate compliance with regulatory standards, including TJC and DPH requirements, through audits and tracer activities.
+ 7. Evaluate equipment needs and ensure adherence to manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFU). 8. Oversee the integrity and preventive maintenance of equipment, devices, and furniture used in HLDS. 9. Deliver in-service training and education to medical assistants, sterile technicians, and nursing leadership.
+ 10. Ensure team members understand and adhere to instructions for use and HLDS best practices. 11. Work collaboratively with SPD leadership, Perioperative Services, and key stakeholders. 12. Coordinate logistics for vendors, support services, and interdepartmental processes related to HLDS.
+ 13. Create and present reports on quality, compliance, and performance metrics. 14. Lead special projects and process improvement initiatives. 15. Facilitate task forces, participate in committee meetings, and support departmental goals. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Education: High School Diploma (Required); Bachelors Degree in a related field (Required) Experience: 2-5 years of experience in Central Sterilization Processes, Endoscope Reprocessing, High-Level Disinfection, or a related healthcare environment. Certifications: - Completion of Central Sterilizing Service training program required for HSPA Certification.
+ Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required upon hire or Certification in Infection Control (CIC). - Certification as a Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) required within one year.
+ Skills: - Demonstrated expertise in project management and staff education. - Intimate knowledge of Sterile Processing policies and best practices (AORN, AAMI, HSPA, SGNA etc.). - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and quality system software. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. -
+ Proven ability to analyze data and present actionable recommendations. - Knowledge of technical systems to enhance operational accuracy and efficiency.
