Coord-Clinical Ultrasonographer

Position Summary

The Ultrasound Coordinator, under the supervision of the Office Manager of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Perinatologists, will carry out responsibilities which ensure high quality, well-coordinated patient care in the clinic according to SRHS and MGC’s policies and mission.  The Ultrasound Coordinator has delegated authority to support, advise, and direct overall management of the Ultrasound practice.  Serves as an ultrasound resource, participates in patient and staff education, demonstrates leadership, and serves as preceptor. 

 

Minimum Requirements

Education           

Accredited two-year Allied Health/Nursing Degree or Bachelor of science degree and successful completion of a recognized and accredited program in Ultrasound Technology

 

Experience        

24 months experience in OB/GYN U/S

 

License/Registration/Certifications       

Currently Registered ARDMS in physics and at least one specialty (abdomen or pelvis) Active membership in ARDMS BLS Certification

Core Job Responsibilities

Critiques diagnostic and technical quality of images to ensure and maintain the high quality of standards of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine department. Assist with departmental office staff meetings to discuss the quality of work, make suggestions to improve the efficiency and productivity of the area, and to work with employees and Perinatologists to keep the standard of work high quality. Maintains awareness of changes being made in the field of ultrasound medicine and keeps the department protocols updated as needed. Responsible for Ultrasound staff, PTO, assisting, coaching and Ultrasonographer education. Organizes and maintains Ultrasonographer’s staff schedule for the clinic.  Makes adjustments to meet providers and coworkers needs and schedule changes. Maintains inventory list and orders supplies for clinics when needed. Assist Practice Manager with staff rounding and AIDET checks. Assist with orientation and training of new staff. Performs annual staff competencies and submits verification to the appropriate person. Contacts BioMed and coordinates the repair of equipment and yearly inspections of equipment in the clinic. Work with IT department to resolve any IT issues in the clinical area for ultrasound staff and providers. Assists Practice Manager with Ultrasonographer’s annual performance evaluations. Ensures all ultrasound staff licensures and certifications are up-to-date and reports this information to the appropriate departments. Attends meeting and trainings required by SRMC and MGC.
