Overview To ensure that quality diabetes self-management education is delivered through a coordinated and systematic process and ensures accountability and continuity of the education process. Qualifications Age of Patients Served: Adolescent (13-17 years) Adult (18-64 years) Geriatric (=>65 years) Required Eduaction: BS in Nutrition or Nursing Preferred Education: Master's in Nutrition or Nursing. Necessary Skills: Organizational skills. Written and verbal communication skills. Decision making skills. Stress management skills. Prioritization skills. Required Licensure/Certifications: -Current professional license in the State of Florida -Current professional registration for registered dietitians -Certified Diabetes Educator required within one (1) year of date of hire or transfer into the position. Required Experience: 1-2 years - Diabetes patient education and self management. Preferred Experience: Three to five (3-5) years diabetes patient education and self management/clinical diabetes experience.
