Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy, is responsible for the intake of referral information, verification of insurance and data entry of new patients. Provides service, assistance and information to referral sources, physicians and customers on home infusion therapy according to insurance guidelines.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1.
Answering multi-line phone system.
2.
Receives and processes orders for infusion services from a referral source, case manager or customer.
3.
Has the ability to verify insurance coverage information and obtains authorizations.

Required:
⦁
One year of customer service experience.
⦁
Two years of home infusion experience as a nurse, pharmacy technician or biller.
⦁
Current working knowledge of the infusion industry, including drugs used, access types and common disease states encountered.
⦁
Ability to work well with staff and the public, make sound judgments and maintain confidentiality.
⦁
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
⦁
Must be able to work independently
⦁
Must be able to multitask in a stressful environment.
⦁
Must be organized and have attention to detail.
⦁
Basic computer skills.
⦁
Valid Driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.
Preferred:
⦁
Typing speed of 35-40 wpm.
⦁
Medical terminology background.
⦁
Pharmacy or home infusion billing experience including verification and authorization.
⦁
Experience with USP 747 guidelines.
