Overview The Perioperative Service Line Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the coordination of care for patients undergoing the designated service line specialty. This position educates, and trains the team members associated with the designated specialty to include the nurses and surgical technologists. Assists in maintenance of service line equipment, instruments and supplies by working closely with the leaders in those areas. Functions as a value analysis liaison between the surgeons and the materials management facilitator. The Perioperative Service Line Coordinator will engage in quality improvement initiatives as deemed appropriate by the leadership team. Coordination of the daily surgical schedule (Charge Nurse) will be assigned as needed. May also be assigned to other procedures when designated Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor�s degree. Specific course work: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Preferred Education: MSN Necessary Skills: 1. Perioperative nurse skills. 2. Demonstrate basic knowledge of data collection, research protocols, etc. 3. Demonstrated leadership ability and collaborative skills. Required Licensure/Certifications: -Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida -BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross -ACLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross -PALS from the American Heart Association is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer. - Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN) required within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the job code Preferred Licensure/Certifications: N/A Required Experience: 1-2 years GI procedural experience Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups
