As a member of the Risk Management division reporting to the Director of Global Health, Safety, and Security, the Coordinator of Health, Safety, and Security performs various complex functions supporting faculty, staff, and student travelers. The position is integral to the university’s efforts to verify compliance and registration with travel policies and processes. The incumbent will oversee individual student registration in the travel registration system, provide reports on travel registrations, enroll travelers in the university’s emergency assistance provider and international medical insurance, perform recordkeeping for Global Health, Safety, and Security, and maintain and report on an incident database.
The incumbent will be expected to conduct research and risk analysis, provide guidance and advice, and work closely with individual student travelers. Additionally, the incumbent will update procedures and policies to ensure that the university and its travelers follow all relevant global health, safety, and security obligations. This position works closely with various administrative units on campus. It directly supports the Director of Global Health, Safety, and Security with multiple committees, including but not limited to the International Incident Management Team (IIMT), High and Extreme Risk Committee (HERC), and ad hoc groups.
Global health, safety, and security are fast-paced fields that require constant innovation to meet the evolving needs of the Temple University traveler. The Coordinator role contributes to the high level of support available for Temple University travelers. Further, it ensures that the Director of Global Health, Safety, and Security is fully supported with long-range projects and 24/7 emergency response.
This position qualifies as a flexible work arrangement position. Details regarding the work arrangement will be discussed with the final candidate.

Required Education & Experience\:
Bachelor’s degree and at least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience. Experience should include a demonstrated ability to communicate and handle sensitive information. Critical writing ability. Excellent organization skills. Skilled at prioritizing complex and varied priorities. Demonstrated customer service or stakeholder engagement experience. Experience with research strategies and tactics to analyze and report on location specific risks and recommendations to move forward or refrain from traveling. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Stays up to date in international risk management and health & safety and educates university personnel in the best practices in those areas.
Preferred\:
*Four or more years of work experience.
*Experience living, working, and/or studying outside the United States.
*Experience with international medical or travel insurance.
*Experience in incident or crisis management.
*High degree of professionalism in handling emergencies or confidential situations.
*Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written, oral, and telephonic mediums, even under time or other pressures.
*Experience working with OSAC or U.S. Department of State resources.
*Experience with Terra Dotta software or familiarity with software tools used to track travelers for an organization.
*Experience with Healix Sentinel travel management system or other travel tracking platforms.
*Experience with Advocate (Simplicity) database.
*Experience using Banner, Canva, and other higher education products.
