Highlights of the job
We are hiring one (1) full time, temporary (for up to 11 months) Coordinator, Projects, working within the Linear Projects group based at Rossdale Water Treatment Plant in Edmonton, AB.
The Coordinator, Projects, will provide support to Project Managers and assist with the planning, delivery, and execution of capital linear (pipeline) projects. This includes achieving the safe and successful completion of capital project milestones outlined in EPCOR’s Capital Delivery Model, and engagement with internal teams and contractors to ensure the smooth flow of deliverables between groups in support of efficient project execution.
What you’d be responsible forAssisting with the procurement of contractors, consultants, and equipment, including the preparation & review of bid packages and technical requirements, drafting contract approval documents, and tracking material delivery with suppliers.Providing cost tracking & forecasting support.Assisting with capital project, budget preparation and approvals including the development of charter documents, presentations, and project management plans.Checking invoices and other expenses and requesting account adjustments as required.Providing contractor management support including tracking project inspections, and contractor orientation and training status, assisting with premobilization kickoff meetings and associated document tracking and review, monitoring ISNetWorld status, and issuing construction certificates.Engaging with internal stakeholders, including engineering, maintenance, and operations, to obtain project support and feedback, including obtaining status updates on project action items and the circulation of design reviews and required follow up.Providing support with capital program management, assisting with prioritization and monitoring of projects within programs.Generating and preparing project packages for in-house construction and liaising with internal resources to track project status.Document storage and organization within project SharePoint sites, ProjectWise, IVARA, Oracle, and ALIM.Assisting with project financial closeout, asset in service tracking, creation of capital work orders and work requests, and tracking and compiling lessons learned.Performing other complex duties and special projects, as assigned.What’s required to be successfulTwo-year post-secondary diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution is required.Minimum of four (4) years of directly related experience.Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to accommodate a wide variety of audiences.Experience in project management of complex construction projects is considered an asset.Relevant experience with contractors and contract management is considered an asset.Working knowledge and proficiency in the following project management tools is preferred:Microsoft suite of tools including Word, Excel, and SharePointOracle suite of tools including Primavera P6 and Power BIBentley IVARA
The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly present information to a variety of audiences in both formal and informal settings. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities to deliver excellent value to a number of stakeholders is also required. This position requires one to work effectively in cross-functional teams and to build positive relationships with various/diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders. The successful applicant will value continual learning and demonstrate the capacity to apply analytical and problem-solving skills in order to identify and recommend solutions.

Wage: Starting at $47.18 per hour (final wage placement will be determined at the time of selection and are subject to change based on the ratification of the new Collective Agreement)
