Coordinator, RN Cardiology

Responsibilities

The Coordinator RN Cardiology is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of RNs in Cardiology, providing direct nursing care by applying clinical nursing knowledge and skills, and for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards.  This position will also facilitate the Cardiologists treatment plan and collaborate with affiliate providers and must also have the ability to triage and evaluate patient with critical cardiac complaints under the direct supervision of the cardiologist on call and via appropriately documented verbal orders. This position will assist the Cardiology Nurse Supervisor with staff scheduling and schedule maintenance, development of process improvement activities, on-boarding of new staff members and EHS compliance.

Salary Range: $87,261 - $107,798 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

 

Qualifications


Education


Required: Graduate from an approved RN nursing program.


Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in nursing


Experience


Required: 3 years RN experience in Critical Care, CCI / ICU, and/or Cardiovascular care experience

 

OR

 

1 year experience as an RN lead (that includes charging in a hospital setting)


Preferred: Outpatient clinic experience


License(s)


Required: Valid and current Texas RN license.


Preferred: N/A


Special Skills


Required: Able to triage and evaluate patient s with critical cardiac disease. 

 

Able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population and for CPR, oxygen 

 

administration and intravenous therapy. 

 

CRT experience helpful


Preferred: Specialty nursing certification appropriate to specialty area assigned. 

 

Able to coordinate patient care across various sub specialties and with affiliate providers. 

 

Good knowledge of cardiovascular diagnostic tests and medicines used in the treatment of cardiovascular 

 

disease. 

 

Windows based computer skills and EMR experience helpful.


Other 


Required: Current BCLS through American Heart Assoc

 

Must obtain ACLS through American Heart Assoc within 6 months of hire


Preferred: ACLS
