**81726BR** **Title:** Coordinator, Visual Operations & Communication **Location/Division:** IL-Chicago **Job Summary:** As the Coordinator of Visual Operations and Communication, you support the stores by providing clear and timely resources and communication and by removing obstacles to ensure stores can execute visual merchandising updates successfully. You will develop communications and reference materials to support new and ongoing initiatives focusing on visual merchandising. Your role will also be responsible for maintaining visual databases with updated photos and details. **Auto req ID:** 81726BR **Employment Type:** Full-Time **State:** Illinois **City:** Chicago **What You Do:** • Content creator of all visual communication directives including visual floorsets directives, window directives and visual standard operating procedures • Create and maintains the Visual Merchandising calendar • Support floorset & window execution • Support store-related data collection for select projects and initiatives • Maintain departmental fixture and program databases • Organize and maintain photo libraries and catalogues from stores • Maintain title lists • Use established tools and procedures to identify, organize and categorize information for the Store Operations team • Provide Holiday Meeting or cross functional support as needed **Knowledge & Experience:** • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills • Write clearly and succinctly, getting messages across to others with the desired impact while maintaining a consistent company voice • Knowledge in proofreading, editing, and copyrighting • Strong attention to detail • Able to communicate respectfully and effectively with partners at all levels of the organization, adjusting communication style to suit the audience • Organize, communicate, prioritize, and balance multiple projects simultaneously, while being flexible to conditions, remaining focused and using resources effectively and efficiently to get things done • Active listener who has the ability to work independently and collaboratively; self‐motivated and disciplined to meet deadlines in the context of competing priorities and projects while balancing the timelines of cross-functional teams • Learn quickly when facing new problems, remain open to change, enjoy the challenge of unfamiliar tasks and grasp technical concepts and processes quickly • Relevant work experience in creating window and visual retail displays • Some travel to nearby stores may be required • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • A minimum of one to two years of retail supervisory experience, preferably with Paper Source or Barnes & Noble • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Suites An employee in this position can expect a hourly rate starting at $19.00 Benefits: Part-time less than 20 hours per week: Sick & Leave Pay, Employee Discount Part-time 20 - 29.99 per week: Sick & Leave Pay, Employee Discount, Vactaion Personal Days and Company Holidays, 401(k) Full Time 30+ hours per week: Sick & Leave Pay, Employee Discount, Vacation, Personal Days and Company Holidays, 401(k), Health Benefits, Disability, Life Insurance, Transit, Tuition Reimbursement **Job Category:** Store Operations **EEO Statement:** As an Affirmative Action Employer, Barnes & Noble hires qualified people to perform the many tasks necessary for the success of our business and is committed to diversity in the workplace.
