Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor s Degree in Nursing or Medical TechnologyExperience in Infection Prevention and ControlStrong communication and organizational skillsProficient computer skills

Certifications and Licenses Required:

Certification by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology preferred or commitment to attain certification after 2 years'

Scheduling Requirements:

Day shift, 40 Hours per week   

Essential Functions:

The Coordinator will be responsible for prevention of hospital-onset infections through promoting best practices/evidenced based guidelines, and education of patients, staff and the community,Other responsibilities include surveillance, data collection, and public reporting,The Coordinator will be working closely with the clinical staff to promote patient safety,The Coordinator will report infection rates and statistics internally and externally to NHSN CDC and be responsible for working with the state and local health departments on prevention and reporting of communicable diseases to the NJDOH Communicable Disease Reporting System CDRSS,The Coordinator will perform audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and infection prevention requirements and assist clinical departments with survey readiness,The Coordinator participates in Environmental Rounds, prepares Infection Control Risk Assessments for all construction projects and works closely with the Safety, Facilities and Environmental Services Departments to help to facilitate a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff,The Coordinator is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i,e damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas and medical errors, etc)Insure that [unit/department/division] is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations,
