W. P. Carey School of Business is seeking an energetic, service oriented and self-motivated person to work on its Enrollment and Engagement team as a Scholarship and Events Coordinator. The Scholarship and Engagement team works to implement programs and support services aimed at retention, leadership development, and engagement of W. P. Carey undergraduate students.
Under general supervision of the Scholarship Manager, the Coordinator will organize, plan and support activities, functions and programs associated with undergraduate scholarships, timelines, funding limitations and priorities. Reviews scholarship applications and selections based on scholarship criteria. Reviews accounts and funding, coordinates transfer of funds and disbursements. Provides scholarship advising and assistance to students and families in 1:1 appointments or workshops. Promotes W. P. Carey scholarship programs to incoming and current students through promotional and electronic marketing platforms. Assists with training staff on application reviews and selection criteria. Supports the Program Manager with scholarship processing and responsibilities related to undergraduate scholarships. Provides program management and support of the McCord Scholars Program to include monthly meetings and events, community service events and student development of McCord Scholars and mentees. Collaborates with students, staff, faculty and administrators to identify and resolve confidential issues. Participate as a member in several scholarship committees including interview and evaluating various scholarships.
Additionally, the coordinator will support varying levels of event management, coordinator, support, and participation for student engagement events and programs including but not limited to Fall Welcome, Family Weekend, Convocation, and other programs designed to engage, retain and graduate W. P. Carey students. The coordinator will work with a variety of staff members – both at W. P. Carey and across campus and must be successful managing multiple details, taking initiatives, and demonstrating integrity.
Days and Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some evenings and weekends will be required. While based on the Tempe campus, individual must be willing and able to travel to multiple campus locations in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
Flexible work optionsHybrid work is an arrangement where employees spend a minimum of 60% of their regular workweek at their primary ASU work location. Dean or vice president-level approval is required.
Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
