About the Role & Team
The Walt Disney Company is a diversified, international family entertainment and media company whose operations include theme parks and resorts, filmed entertainment including motion pictures and television shows, consumer products, cruise lines, radio and television stations, broadcast and cable networks, internet offerings, and publishing activities.  We are looking for a full-time Coordinator to join our Intellectual Property team.  The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic, fast-paced team that protects and advises on the company’s Intellectual Property matters around the world.  We protect some of the world’s most famous intellectual property and provide legal counsel on important trademark matters globally. If you are selected for this role, you will report to the Paralegal Manager.  


What You Will Do

Assist Disney's Trademark Group with all aspects of trademark-related matters in US and foreign jurisdictions, including, researching and documenting evidence of trademark use Preparing evidence packages for all types of trademark-related matters and/or for recordkeepingGenerating research documents for evidence tracking purposesScanning projects to document evidence and/or for other recordkeepingGeneral recordkeepingCorresponding with business clientsCorresponding with outside counselData and docketing administrationReviewing and proofreading certificates of registration and/or renewal, chain of title documents, etc.; maintaining the database, as neededCoordinating legalization of documentsGenerating reports and other unique trademark projects as may arise from time-to-time


Required Qualifications & Skills

At least 1 year of legal experience (Intellectual Property experience is a plus)Excellent written and oral communication skillsStrong research skillsExcellent attention to detailSuperior organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize workloadAbility to handle a high volume of deadline-intensive work  Strong follow-up and follow-through skillsStrong interpersonal skills with all levels, both internal and externalExperience with working effectively in a collaborative team-environmentSelf-starter with an excellent work ethic and commitment to professionalismStrong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite, Adobe software, database software, billing software, document management software, and Internet research skillsAbility to recognize and eliminate inefficiencies and promote continuous improvementWillingness to learn and use new research materials and practice tools

Preferred Qualifications

Paralegal certificate is a plus, but not required.

Education

BA/BS degree or equivalent work experienceThe hiring range for this position in California is $58,700.00 to $78,600.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
