Job Overview:

Under the direction of the Program Manager for Lung Screening, the Administrative Coordinator will work with the Program Manager and our multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure smooth planning and execution of the Incidental Finding Program at Somerset, Hamilton and the Lung Screening Program at Somerset.

The Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for management of assigned work queues, coordination and scheduling of patient appointments, and patient and referring provider follow-up. The Administrative Coordinator will abstract data to support management needs. The position requires the ability to work independently, solve problems and concentrate on details, prioritize and follow through with all established guidelines,

Qualifications:

Required:

High School or GED Diploma required.Familiarity with Microsoft Office Package, Word, PowerPoint, Excel is required.Good interpersonal skills.

Preferred:

Medical Terminology preferred.Prior experience in a medical office environment is preferred.

Essential Functions:

Assists nurses in obtaining reports from testing departments or outside facilities.Assists in maintaining files of surveillance/screening patients.Registers and schedules patients for testing and physician appointments.Responds to data queries when requested.Screens new patients for surveillance/screening eligibility.Answers the telephone and triage calls to the proper person.Calls surveillance patients to assure proper follow-up.Assists in obtaining and preparing information/forms per guidelines of surveillance/screening programs.Copies and retrieves radiographic films as needed.Creates and maintains charts as appropriate.Demonstrates flexibility in response to unexpected changes in work volume, emergency staffing and schedule changes.Develops and follows systems to ensure efficient workflow to complete daily tasks of associated duties by due dates.Maintains files in a timely and organized fashion.Utilizes surveillance program software to compile program reports and patient follow-up correspondence.Works with the community outreach department to attend educational programs/health fairs within the community.Provides support to Cancer Center Program Manager and assists in daily activities when needed in Cancer Center Administration and SCC Lobby.
