Budget Title: Staff Assistant (SL-2)
Salary: $52,000 - $55,000
The Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion invites applicants for the position of Coordinator for Diversity Education. This is a full-time position that works closely with an assistant director for diversity education that provides support to faculty, staff and students throughout the campus, within the UDiversity Educational Institute. The Institute provides training and guidance for engagement around issues of equity, classroom and workplace inclusion and the importance of diversity in the greater community. The coordinator for diversity education reports to the Assistant Director of UDiversity.
The duties of the Coordinator for Diversity Education include:
+ Assist with delivering and facilitating diversity workshops to the campus (students, faculty, and staff) and local community.
+ Responsible for administrative matters pertinent to the role, as deemed appropriate by the Assistant Director.
+ Consult and collaborate with key stakeholders to identify training or workshop needs to support the developmental needs of students, faculty, staff, and organizations.
+ Stay up to date with trends in diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility and participate in professional development opportunities.
+ Develop and update training curriculum as needed.
+ Respond to requests for workshops and prepare the materials accordingly.
+ Work closely with student employees in the department to guide assistance with operational needs of the department.
+ Assist with tracking data for the unit, including evaluations for the purpose of compiling data. Outcome of data will provide guidance to enhance and improve workshop curriculum and teaching techniques.
+ Communicate effectively with campus constituencies as it relates to programming and workshops.
Job Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree
+ Experience in diversity education
+ Experience organizing and building custom classes/training sessions
+ Experience working collaboratively with various stakeholders and units within an organization
Preferred:
+ Master's degree
+ Experience in a higher education setting
+ Experience teaching classes and designing curriculum for courses
+ Experience with adult education
